Amsterdam Platform for Privacy Research (APPR)
main appr-en
The Amsterdam Platform for Privacy Research (APPR) consists of more than 50 researchers at the University of Amsterdam who are involved with privacy aspects in their daily activities. They all approach this topic from different angles, such as law, philosophy, economics, computer science, medicine, communication studies, political science, etc. Through an interdisciplinary approach and joint discussion, APPR increases both the understanding and awareness of privacy issues.
In October 2012, an international, interdisciplinary privacy conference will be organized. Established theories and big names will be combined with innovative and progressive research. Again, the interdisciplinary approach will be central. More information may be found under the subheading 'Conference’ and on the conference website www.apc2012.org. The Call for Papers can be found below.
In collaboration with the Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies, APPR organizes a course on privacy, in which 10 researchers give a masterclass on privacy from different disciplines in 10 meetings. There are also specific courses on privacy within various faculties. More information can be found under the subheading 'Courses '.
